Beyond Climbing
Rock climbing is a language that transcends gender, difficulty levels, industries, age, and even national borders. It’s a passion that brings people together, providing a common topic of conversation.
Hylonomus and his close friends grow together, trusting each other. In the future, Hylonomus wishes to accompany more climbers, enjoy rock climbing, and create happiness.
John Duran
One of the earliest members of the hylonomus testing team, the oldest in age, but never stopped “bouldering.” He is also a pure climber who has made many contributions to the development of rock climbing in the United States and China. Born in 1962, he is a native of New Mexico, USA, and was introduced to rock climbing at the age of 12, becoming a legendary climber in the southwestern United States. He has pioneered over a thousand bouldering routes above V10 grade, free-soloed the traditional climb Fainting Iman (5.13a, later downgraded to 5.12c/d) on Cochiti Mesa in New Mexico, as well as sport climbs Dreamscape 5.12a and La Espina 5.12a. In 1990, his traditional climbing ability was 5.13c/d, and bouldering V11/12. John’s profession is an elementary school teacher.
KANG MINSU
Born in 2001, he is a current member of the South Korean National Climbing Team, a member of the Korean Alpine Federation, and an IFSC-registered athlete since 2019, specializing in speed climbing. Since 2022, he has provided earnest and detailed feedback for the development and testing of the Light series products. As a tester and user who has been with Hylonomus from the beginning, he always appears in Hylonomus products at major competitions around the world. He is positive, full of energy, and serves as the brand’s image representative in South Korea.
LEE YONGSU
The first athlete to achieve the third prize in international competitions wearing Hylonomus. Born in 1999, a current member of the South Korean National Climbing Team, a member of the Korean Alpine Federation, and an IFSC-registered athlete since 2015, specializing in speed climbing. Like KANG MINSU, he has been providing serious and detailed feedback for the development and testing of the Light series products since 2022. He is also the first athlete to achieve the third prize in international competitions wearing Hylonomus. LEE YONGSU is meticulous and focused in his actions, and he is also the image representative of Hylonomus in South Korea.
Kun Kun
A young person who only wants to climb walls every day and constantly challenges themselves A representative of the positive and upward spirit of the youth, endowed with talent, and constantly challenging themselves. They are the young representative of the “Focus” series. After getting into rock climbing, life is full of fun and challenges. Every day, they only want to climb walls, and when resting, they just want to lie down. They have basically given up on messy entertainment life, leaving only rock climbing. Rock climbing is a seasoning for my life; every time I climb a new route or visit a new climbing gym, there is a different flavor. I hope that in the future, I can climb more and more handsomely and become stronger.
Qu Zheng
A middle-aged man for whom rock climbing has become the entirety of life At the “advanced” age of 35, he took up rock climbing and within a year, he conquered “Dragonfly” and “Fire-Burning Hornets” in Yangshuo. Two years later, he returned to Yangshuo and climbed “Single Life” (5.13b). From 2015 to the present, rock climbing has become his whole life. In October 2024, he embarked on a nomadic rock climbing lifestyle. He describes himself: climbing every day, and every day is his best condition. He is passionate about rock climbing and has a spirit of perseverance.

Zhou Lei
One of the earliest developers of Liming Climbing, and a practitioner of the slogan “Keep the Tradition” He tests for product improvements, insists on traditional climbing, and has made significant contributions to traditional Chinese rock climbing. He is the representative of the “Escape” series of products. As a traditional climber, he was one of the earliest developers of Liming Climbing and is currently dedicated to the maintenance and operation of the “Liming Climbing Community.” He is a practitioner of the slogan “Keep the Tradition.”

A child with autism who has benefited from rock climbing. Since being introduced to rock climbing in 2022, Chuan Chuan currently has the ability to climb indoor sport routes up to 5.12c-d and bouldering problems up to V4. Through rock climbing, Chuan Chuan has gained confidence and grown, and has gradually drawn the attention of the climbing community to ASD groups.
